Member Lightning Talks

At Women in Tech, our mission is to amplify diverse voices and empower individuals to shape the future of technology. One of the most exciting ways we do this is through our Member Lightning Talks, where members take the stage to share their ideas, innovations, and experiences in just five minutes.

SORRY, CLOSED FOR PITCHING 13TH JANUARY 2025!

What Are Lightning Talks?

Lightning talks are short, impactful presentations designed to deliver big ideas in a small window of time. These 5-minute talks challenge speakers to distill their message into an engaging, memorable moment that resonates with the audience. They can cover anything from breakthrough projects to overlooked areas of tech or even personal stories that inspire others to take action.

Why Lightning Talks Matter

The fast-paced format of lightning talks makes them accessible and inclusive, allowing speakers with different levels of experience to participate. These talks spotlight unique perspectives, encourage knowledge sharing, and often spark conversations that extend far beyond the event itself.

For our community, lightning talks are a way to showcase the untapped talent within Women in Tech. Whether it’s a member introducing a groundbreaking idea or shedding light on an often-overlooked topic, these presentations inspire and educate us all.

Real Stories, Real Impact

Stephanie Darvill, our current Women in Tech Moderator, began her journey with us through a lightning talk in 2023. Her presentation not only resonated with the audience but also opened doors to new opportunities within our organization.

“Taking that leap and sharing my idea was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” Stephanie recalls.
