Ödgärd Andersson is the CEO of Zenseact, a global AI company in the Volvo Cars Group that develops car safety software for autonomous driving (AD) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Zenseact’s 800 engineers work with Volvo Cars and Polestar as lead customers to enable the next big step in automotive safety, where the AI, Software and sensing technologies needed for automation and autonomous driving is making every mile safer, whether you or the car is driving. Leveraging a combination of rule-based code and deep learning algorithms, the company’s technology covers every aspect of automation, from sensor fusion, computer vision, and object detection to positioning and actuation. Volvo Cars will launch Zenseact’s ADAS solutions for various models of the new generation Volvo and Polestar cars, including the Volvo EX90 and Polestar 3.
Ödgärd Andersson is also a member of Traton SE Supervisory Board. With its brands Scania, MAN, Navistar, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus, TRATON SE is the parent and holding company of the TRATON GROUP and one of the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. The Group’s product portfolio comprises trucks, buses, and light-duty commercial vehicles. Prior to joining Zenseact in November 2020, Ödgärd served as the Chief Digital Officer at Volvo Cars. Her mission was to create digital solutions to move the business online and redefine the in-house development and partner ecosystem to create the modern software-defined car. This resulted in the world’s first car with built-in Google Android OS, maps, and voice assistant.
Before moving into the automotive industry in 2016, Ödgärd spent 20 years in telecommunications at Ericsson AB, located in Sweden and Silicon Valley, focused on the global development of telecom infrastructure, including radio and core networks. She was the head of Ericsson Göteborg and global VP of Packet Core. She was a part of the journey of telecom networks transforming from hardware-based products to software and services, embedded as well as cloud-based.
Ödgärd holds a Master of Science Degree from Chalmers University of Technology and is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and of the board of IVA Business Executives Counsel. She has previously been a member of the board of directors of Opus Group, a global vehicle inspection company, and of the board of directors of Sleep Cycle, a world-leading app for creating health through sound sleep.
