The WIT Team Goes Nerdy at DreamHack

Last weekend, the Women in Tech Sweden core team immersed ourselves in the electric atmosphere of DreamHack Stockholm at Stockholmsmässan. It was a weekend of geeking out, getting inspired, and connecting with the vibrant gaming and tech community. Here are some of the highlights that made our hearts (and nerdy souls) happy:

🎮 Exhibition Area
The expo floor was a treasure trove of innovation and creativity. From cutting-edge tech demos and interactive booths to epic merch and hands-on experiences, there was something for everyone. We had a blast exploring new gadgets, and yes, grabbing some fantastic freebies!

🏢 Massive Scale: DreamHack’s ability to book and fill Stockholmsmässan, the Nordics’ largest conference venue, was awe-inspiring. The setup inside was both seamless and visually stunning!

👮‍♂️ Engagement with Public Sector Players: Seeing organizations like Sveriges Riksdag, the Swedish Armed Forces, Polisen, killar.se, and UMO actively engage with younger audiences was a highlight. From FIFA matches with Polisen to exploring IT forensics, the interactions were creative and fun.

💻 Counter-Strike: All Girls Competition
On Saturday, we watched top teams from the women’s premier Counter-Strike league compete in front of a live audience. It was a standout moment, celebrating diversity and inclusion in gaming. Watching these talented women compete on the stage was inspiring and a powerful reminder of the growing space for women in esports.

🎁 Rewarding Engagement: DreamHack kept attendees on the move with a gamified reward system. Completing booth activities and quests in the app earned participants a spin on the DreamHack Prize Wheel, which offered exciting prizes.

More than just a gaming festival, DreamHack was a hub of creativity and community. The energy, camaraderie, and shared passion for tech and gaming brought everyone together, leaving us buzzing with fresh ideas and appreciation for the power of collaboration.
