Make Equal - Invisible work

Invisible work is a challenge that particularly affects women, who often fall into the trap of unpaid and invisible responsibilities both at work and at home. This work, which is rarely recognized or valued, can lead to an imbalance in the distribution of tasks and impact women’s career opportunities and quality of life. By making these invisible tasks visible, we can create a fairer and more inclusive environment where all contributions are acknowledged.

At Osynligt arbete (FYI – Swedish website),  a range of tools is offered to highlight and fairly distribute invisible work both in the workplace and at home. Through practical exercises and guides, individuals and groups can create a more inclusive and equitable environment where all contributions are recognized and valued. These tools are designed to facilitate conversations and collaborations, contributing to a better balance between work and personal life.

In 2023, Ida Östensson released the powerful book Allt vi inte ser: Så påverkas du av det osynliga arbetet – på jobbet och i hemmet (Everything We Don’t See: How You Are Affected by Invisible Work – At Work and At Home). This essential read dives into the profound impact of invisible labor and offers actionable insights for change.
