Women in Tech's digital conference highlights The Power of Resilience

People, technology, innovations and collaborations that pave the way for a better future and inspire hope. This is what’s in focus when Women in Tech for the eighth year in a row arranges the Nordic region’s largest technology conference for women. On March 10, a record number of 3,500 participants will gather in this year’s digital conference #WITswe2021.

The Women in Tech conference has grown every year. In 2020, 2,100 tech women gathered at Waterfront in Stockholm. This year, even more people will be able to participate as the event will be completely digital and possible to attend regardless of where you are physically. Tickets are free thanks to the commitment of more than 20 of Sweden’s most interesting and forward-thinking tech companies. The tickets will be released on February 10, at 12.00.

The Women in Tech initiative puts the spotlight on the fact that it is critical for the industry that more women choose a career in tech – and that those who already in the industry want to stay.

“Women in Tech is driven by people and companies who want to create change. From the companies’ side, it is a matter of survival to bring in the best talent for their teams, and the sharpest teams consist of people with different perspectives and experiences. This is where our partners make a difference every day, with their work on inclusion and recruitment”, says Elin Eriksson, Director of Women in Tech Sweden, and continues:
“When we ask our over 12,000 members what most influences their career choices, it is networks and role models that are mentioned as the most important. If you see someone you can identify with in an exciting role; who has done groundbreaking research or perhaps as the founder of a tech startup; it’s easier to see yourself in the industry in the future. At the conference #WITswe2021, there is both the network and role models, on the stages and among the sharp and forward-thinking participants.”

Free tickets thanks to the support from our partners

Women in Tech’s main conference usually takes place in time around International Women’s Day, and this year the conference will be held on March 10. Interest has grown every year since the start in 2014 and last year’s seats were fully booked just a few minutes after the ticket release. The complete program for this year’s conference will be published shortly and tickets will be released on February 10 at 12.00.

“As in previous years, the tickets are completely free for the participants, thanks to the support from our fantastic partners. Expensive tickets should not be an obstacle for those who are curious to enter the industry”, says Åsa Johansen, who is responsible for Communication & Operations for Women in Tech Sweden.

This year’s theme is “The Power of Resilience” and Paulina Modlitba, who is responsible for for the setting the main conference program for the sixth year in a row, describes the theme:
“Our planet is facing a pandemic that is changing the way we live forever. Fortunately, a bright and common thread of hope is running through the crisis. A thread that forces us all to reflect and become better at collaborating, inventing, developing and adapting to new conditions and a new reality. Resilience, the art of adapting, is more important than ever to survive and thrive in these unpredictable times.”

“It is also important to understand what builds and strengthens resilience. Among other things, it has been shown that multifaceted and heterogeneous teams are often better at anticipating future changes and challenges thanks to a broader perspective. Other important factors are having common goals and values that extend beyond the current business models and continuous development and training”, says Paulina Modlitba.

At #WITswe2021, we will highlight people, technology, innovations and collaborations that pave the way for a better future and inspire hope.
