With a background in both BTech and an MBA, she brings together tech expertise and strategic thinking in everything she does. Sujata’s passion for tech, diversity, and empowerment shines through her years of volunteering with Women in Tech and her role as a co-organizer of PyData Stockholm. She’s also a confident public speaker and a proud advocate for inclusion in the tech industry.

Originally from the coal town of Dhanbad, India, Sujata’s journey to leading AI programs at H&M’s headquarters in Stockholm is nothing short of inspiring. She also happens to be a popular Instagram influencer (@thestockholmblogger) with over 123k followers and a Mrs. India Inc. titleholder (she won Mrs. Congeniality!).

From mentoring and career guidance to organizing local meetups, Sujata uses her platform to lift others and help them reach their full potential.

What do you do as a Woman in Tech?

I focus a lot on building inclusive spaces in tech. Whether I’m organizing PyData Stockholm meetups, volunteering with Women in Tech, or mentoring folks starting in the industry, it’s all about helping women get in, grow, and feel like they belong. Skill-sharing, networking, and lifting each other make all the difference.

What made you choose tech?

My dad was my biggest inspiration. People called him a “human computer” back in the day. He was coding since it was still a new and emerging field! Watching him solve problems with logic and creativity sparked my curiosity and admiration. I wanted to follow in his footsteps and create something meaningful in the tech world. It’s my way of carrying forward his legacy, while carving out my own path.

What does the Women in Tech community mean to you?

It means the world. It’s a space where we uplift each other, share experiences, and celebrate our achievements. It’s a source of inspiration, motivation, and collaboration. This community reminds us that we’re not alone, even in a male-dominated field; we have a place and a voice that matters.

What’s a hobby or interest you’re passionate about outside of work?

I wear a few hats outside of tech! I’m an Instagram influencer (@thestockholmblogger) with 123k+ followers, and I love sharing fashion, events, and glimpses of my life. I’m also into public speaking and pageants. I recently won Mrs. Congeniality at Mrs. India Inc., and it’s been such a fun and empowering journey. It’s been a thrilling journey that has helped me grow personally and professionally.

If you could give one piece of advice to an aspiring woman in tech, what would it be?

Don’t let self-doubt hold you back. Seriously! Step out of your comfort zone, seek out mentors, and build a network of allies. Your perspective is unique and valuable, own it confidently! The tech world needs you.
