At the recent Stockholm School of Economics Tech Initiative lunch session, hosted in collaboration with Kvinnovation, our very own Elin Eriksson, Creative Director at Women in Tech Sweden, took the stage to share her insights on how we can reshape the landscape for female entrepreneurs.
The session, held at the Stockholm School of Economics, focused on a pressing question: How do we create a better space for female entrepreneurship?
Elin was joined by:
Together, they discussed everything from psychological safety and inclusive work cultures to how we define success and the hidden biases in traditional funding and policy systems.
One of the most urgent topics? Access to capital.
“Under 1% of venture capital goes to women. This is not just unfair – it’s a waste of money and a loss of brilliant ideas. The fact that the other 99% goes to men cannot be allowed to continue. It should be regulated by law. Equity in funding is not just a moral issue – it’s an economic necessity.”
– Elin Eriksson, Women in Tech Sweden
Elin emphasized the need to move beyond just conversations and role models (though both are vital) toward structural change: rethinking how we measure risk, success, and innovation itself. She called for new metrics that reflect diverse journeys, and policies that don’t just “encourage” equity but enforce it. It should be the law.
As Elin put it:
“We keep asking women to pitch better. Maybe it’s time we ask investors to listen better.”
We’re proud to see our Creative Director represent the Women in Tech Sweden mission so powerfully—and grateful to Kvinnovation and SSE for hosting such a thoughtful and necessary conversation.
