Accenture x Women in Tech Sweden Meetup Recap: Navigating the New Reality

How do we navigate a working world increasingly shaped by AI — while keeping people, trust and human skills at the centre? At our recent breakfast meetup with Accenture, we gathered our community for a morning of insights, practical examples and conversations around AI, innovation and the new reality of work.

As AI gets smarter, human skills matter more

One of the key messages of the morning was that as AI becomes better at taking on parts of our work and decision-making, our uniquely human skills become even more important.

Judgment, intuition, critical thinking and the ability to build relationships and trust are becoming increasingly valuable alongside technical capabilities. Understanding people — their needs, behaviours and emotions — remains something we need to actively bring into how we develop and use technology.

Knowing when to use AI matters too

The conversation also explored the growing role of AI in the decisions we make, from customer service to how we search, shop and choose between different options.

But just because something can be handed over to AI doesn’t mean it always should be. Knowing when technology adds value — and when human interaction, judgment or trust is needed — is becoming an important skill in itself.

Less talking, more experimenting

We also got a behind-the-scenes look at how Accenture is putting AI into practice through an internal AI hackathon.

Rather than simply talking about the possibilities of AI, teams were given space to experiment with real business challenges and turn their ideas into working solutions. Over eight weeks, they tested, iterated and built — with one important principle guiding the process: don’t focus on making it perfect, focus on learning what’s possible.

Reimagining how we match people and opportunities

One of the solutions presented explored how AI could help find and match talent with opportunities based on skills, experience and availability.

The team wanted to rethink a familiar challenge: finding the right opportunity can sometimes depend as much on who you know as what you know. Their solution explored how AI and better connected data could create a more skills-based approach to matching people with roles where they can thrive.

A big thank you to Accenture for hosting us, sharing your experiences and giving us plenty to think about — and to everyone from the Women in Tech Sweden community who joined us bright and early!

Three insights we’re taking with us

1. Human skills aren’t becoming less important, they’re becoming more important
Judgment, intuition, critical thinking, relationships and trust are essential as we work more closely with AI.

2. Don’t just talk about AI. Experiment with it
Start with a real problem, try things, learn and iterate. The first solution doesn’t have to be perfect.

3. The opportunity isn’t only to automate, it’s to reimagine
AI gives us the chance to question how things have always been done and explore entirely new ways of solving problems.
