Member Highlight: Madeleine Hedin

Curiosity can open doors we didn’t even know were there. In this member spotlight, we meet Madeleine: a UX/UI Designer whose journey from teaching to design has shaped her strong focus on people, inclusion, and user-centered solutions. As the Lead UX/UI Designer at Women in Tech Sweden, she combines her passion for design with a deep belief in the power of community and belonging. Always curious and creative, she’s on a journey of continuous learning, both in tech and beyond.

What do you do as a woman working in the tech industry?

I am a UX/UI Designer with a background as a licensed teacher. I am currently volunteering as the Lead UX/UI Designer at Women In Tech Sweden, while job-hunting for my next workplace. I go to events and network a lot and learn new things everyday. It’s a fun and creative journey!

What does the Women in Tech initiative mean to you?

It means having a community, feeling like we are in this together. The hard work all of the people behind Women In Tech do to make sure women have a natural place and space within tech is what keeps me going. It’s bigger than an individual, it’s a movement and I am super proud to be part of it.

If you could give one piece of advice to an aspiring woman in tech, what would that be?

Stay curious! Curiosity is what brings people together, that makes us connect. Curiosity can sometimes open doors that never would have even existed, if it wasn’t for a curious person. So, stay curious and open-minded, your journey to reach your goal will be more fun and interesting, I promise you!

Fun fact: Do you have any pets or hobbies? Tell us about them!

I have been a card-maker for about 13 years and paint watercolor as well as acrylic. It helps me relax and recharge my batteries.
