Her passion for learning and personal growth is truly motivating—she’s ambitious, always seeking new opportunities to expand her skills. Beyond her own journey, Ekaterina is deeply committed to giving back. She mentors others, generously sharing her knowledge and experience. We’re thrilled to highlight her contributions and insights in this interview.

What do you do as a Woman in Tech?

For the last three years, I’ve been working as a Frontend Developer at Tobii. I focus on building user-friendly interfaces that make technology accessible to everyone.

On the side, I volunteer with Pink Programming, where I organize Pink Sunday workshops and afterwork events. I also mentor women in tech through programs like Tjejer Kodar and Beela.

Volunteering is important to me because it lets me help other women find their way into tech, and hopefully, inspire them to keep going on their path to becoming developers.

What made you choose tech?

It was a mix of practicality and passion, honestly. I wanted a stable job in Sweden, but I also wanted something creative that involved problem-solving.

After writing my first lines of code, I was hooked. I loved how challenging and rewarding programming was, especially when things started working. There’s nothing like the feeling of finally solving a tricky problem.

What does the Women in Tech community mean to you?

It’s a fantastic support system. It’s a space where we can share, connect, and lift each other up, especially when things get tough. It’s empowering to be part of a community that’s all about helping each other grow.

If you could give one advice to an aspiring woman in tech, what would that be?

Don’t give up! The journey is very hard and steep but the rewards are worth it  .

Stay curious, keep learning, and remember—you’ve got this!

Fun fact: Do you have any pets? Tell us about them!
I think I’ve fully embraced the life of a “crazy cat lady”. I have four fluffy, playful cats who are always by my side.

In my free time, I love to knit—most of my evenings are spent curled up on the couch, knitting away with my cats lounging around me.

When my hands need a break from knitting, I’ll switch to a good book and enjoy the cozy company of my little feline family.
