Elsa Eugensson Irwe

Program Manger for Safe Vehicle Automation, Volvo

Elsa has always been curious about how things work. That curiosity is what initially drove her to pursue an education in Design Engineering at Chalmers University. Elsa’s education provided a strong foundation of knowledge, particularly in understanding how people and things can cooperate in a better way. Elsa’s professional career started at Scania, but soon brought her to Volvo Cars when she was selected to be part of the prestigious Global Graduate Program. Elsa has served as a project & product leader for Active Safety Functions & Systems and is currently a program manager for the Safe Vehicle Automation unit. Elsa’s work has been important for Volvo Cars, both in how we bring our commitment to safety to life and in the major transformation to create our groundbreaking software in-house.

Elsa and her family including her two daughters (5 & 3 years old) love to spend time by the ocean, participating in activities like sailing, swimming or just having a picnic at the beach. “That gives me energy but also peace of mind.”, says Elsa. “The contrasts between technical problems to solve and playing outside is what gives me good balance.”
