Women in Tech Sweden at Tech BBQ 🇩🇰

Elin Eriksson’s talk drew on findings from the State of Women in Tech Sweden 2026 report, framed for a Nordic audience. The headline she most wanted the room to walk away with was simple: Women in tech thrive.

“Satisfaction is high, and that’s the story that too often gets lost,” Elin Eriksson said.

At the same time, she pushed the audience to sit with a paradox facing the Nordic tech community: women’s roles are increasingly exposed to AI disruption, while women themselves are lagging behind in AI upskilling – locking many out of the roles and pay-premium that AI competence now commands.

“Satisfaction is high, but the structures underneath it are shifting fast, and not in women’s favor,” she said.

Beyond the stage, it was also a full-house moment for Sweden at Tech BBQ. A Swedish fika and networking mingle, complete with a ribbon-cutting, saw MEP Arba Kokalari deliver an inspirational speech, with special thanks extended to the Embassy of Sweden in Denmark, represented by Anders Carlsson. Elin Eriksson joined other Swedish tech initiatives on the day, including GoWest and Techaren, reflecting the scale of collaboration behind Sweden’s presence at the event.
