Founder and CEO, Liisa Smits sets the strategic direction for Ignitia. She has been recognized internationally for her vision and leadership as a 2015 Mulago Foundation Rainer Arnhold Fellow, 2015 Unreasonable Institute Fellow, and 2014 Ashoka Fellow. Liisa has also been the recipient of prestigious awards, including the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment Solutions Prize 2017 and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) Innovator of the Year 2013.
